From Legalese to Legal Easy
Contracts have gotten too complicated, verbose, and unintelligible.
The culprit–legalese. What is legalese?
“It the formal and technical language of legal documents that is often hard to understand.”
Many lawsuits could be avoided with plain language contracts. Unfortunately, many lawyers are tied to the tradition of using words like “wherefore, heretofore” that have long since fallen out of the vocabulary of everyone but lawyers. Worse, the paragraphs are dense and littered with overly verbose language that is difficult to understand but are written for other lawyers.
We want to be part of the solution and lead by example. We believe that contracts should be able to be understood not only by the lawyers but also by the people that depend on the contract. So here’s our terms and conditions that are written for you… and for your lawyer.
